Set the bread aside and pour the rest of the egg mixture to the pan. Cook it until slightly set and then place the cheese (optional), then the bread (untoasted side) over it and press. The most obvious way to make toast without a toaster is to use your stovetop. Grab any type of skillet (a cast-iron skillet works wonderfully well) and set it on medium heat (or medium-high heat).

- Take a bowl mix all the ingredients.
- Pre heat the oven/ tawa.
- Take a slice of bread, spread mixed vegetables evenly on top of it.
- Place bread slices on oven tray and bake them for 20-25 minutes on oven with 300 degree C, if you are doing it on tawa then place the bread slices on tawa and cover it with lid then bake for 10-15 minutes on medium heat.
- After 20 minutes take out the bread slices from oven/tawa, serve hot with tomato ketchup.
When it's hot, place your slices of bread directly on it and cover, to lock in the heat. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Cut each slice in half; place plain side down on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with garlic salt and Parmesan cheese. French toast is traditionally made with day-old bread because it prevents waste and because slightly stale slices absorb the custard-like mixture better than fresh ones.
