- It's 1 tin of condensed milk such as Nestle, Eagles brand or Natures Choice Condensed Coconut milk. You can also use my homemade condensed milk.
Vickys Oven Method Dulce du Leche / Caramel Sauce instructions
- Preheat the oven to gas 8 / 210C / 425F.
- Pour the condensed milk into a 9 inch cake or pie tin.
- Cover the tin with foil and place in an over tray. Pour water into the oven tray so it comes halfway up the pie tin.
- Put in the oven for 75 minutes. Give the caramel a stir then return to the oven, checking every 15 minutes until it turns golden. This should take around 1 & 1/2 hours.
- Stir again then pour into a sterilized glass jar and let cool to use as a delicious ice cream topping or use immediately as pie filler.
