Instant Pot Baby Back Ribs step by step

  1. Remove membrane from ribs. (I skip this step on the recommendation of 2 butchers who told me I "watch" to many cooking shows, and to leave the membrane on).
  2. Coat with the dry rub. If you do this early enough, put ribs on plate, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. If done spur of moment let rest at least 30 minutes..
  3. Place trivet in bottom of IP, add liquid ingredients EXCEPT BBQ sauce..
  4. Stack ribs on the trivet on their side next to one another..
  5. High pressure cook for 30 minutes. Do a natural release..
  6. Baste with BBQ sauce and broil for 5-7 minutes. This finishing touch actually makes the ribs in my opinion..

Place the wire rack in your instant pot and curl the the ribs inside the pot. Standing them on their side, wrapping around the inside of the pot with the "meat side" facing out. Top with cubed onion and garlic. Secure the lid for the Instant, making sure the vent is closed. Prep your instant pot by pouring the water, and liquid smoke into the bottom of the pot.
