Easiest Way to Cook Perfect Buttermilk Biscuits

Buttermilk Biscuits I liked the other ones better. These were okay but need some tweaking to be better than that. The flour shortening buttermilk ratio seemed near perfect. You can cook Buttermilk Biscuits using 7 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Buttermilk Biscuits

  1. You need 1 cup of Milk.
  2. It's 1 tsp of vinegar, white, apple or lemon juice.
  3. It's 2 cup of All-Purpose Flour (you could also use whole wheat flour for part of the 2 cups).
  4. Prepare 4 tsp of Baking Powder.
  5. You need 1/2 tsp of Baking Soda.
  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Salt.
  7. It's 1/3 cup of Oil.

Often much more flour is required than the recipe states; but not this one. These have a beautiful golden finish btw. Generously brush the tops of biscuits with buttermilk. Transfer biscuits to a wire rack to cool.

  6. Prepare a cookie sheet with Pam or Parchment Paper. Drop dough onto cookie sheet 2 inches apart..
  7. Bake for 8 - 9 minutes..
  8. Option: You can also add shredded cheddar cheese. Add the cheese to dough at end. Fold in. Drop on a cookie sheet and put a pinch of cheese on top..

Grate frozen butter using large holes of a box grater. Toss together grated butter and flour in a medium bowl. Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl, or in the bowl of a food processor. Cut the butter into chunks and cut into the flour until it resembles course meal. If using a food processor, just pulse a few times until this consistency is achieved.
